What happened to Sven coop?

Hmmm... Well the problem is probably Vehicle Prediction in MP if you are talking about that... We over at Eternal-Silence just finished coding that in, so it's nice and smooth now... So any good coder will be able to get vehicles to work perfectly fine over MP.

It wouldnt be hard to put HL2 weapons into black mesa source anyway. And I also heard they will be adding new enemies to black mesa. I never saw much media from sven coop 2 anyway so nothing seen nothing lost.

Even still, Black Mesa is recreating the Half Life engine on the Source engine. That means Half Life style jumping, HUD, what have you. Sven II was about HL2 coop, Half Life 2 movement, enemies, weapons, and all that. Systems made just for coop gameplay, lives/respawn system, multi passenger vehicles, and beta enemies. Check their past media releases, they've shown off the old male Elite and their Gordon model.

Only thing I saw was a gordon model and that white monster type thing. That really isn't much. I could go on without a gordon model.

If they do get sven for HL2, it probably wont be as fun as the original because the HL2 unverse just isnt as cool as the HL1 universe to me.

Also Sven COOP 2 is going to need high end PCs/Servers to end up playable.

If I was the sven team all I would do is port all the models and have pretty maps like what the old DOD:S looked like. It would make performance fairly good and people get what they want. Oldschool gameplay + ragdoll.

Exactly. I loved the huge indoor environments. Exploring the facility. I found that really fascinating.

mainly alot of us are just waiting for it because of the mapping, i dont like making box maps, where people kill each other. especially don't like it when faggots join my game during testing and kill me. it'd be easier to start making single player maps for it now, just wish there was a way to test them with out people killing each other, then add the correct entities when it comes along.

when i said that thing about the vehicle code, i had no idea, it was just a guess, because everytime i've seen someone ask what the problem it doesn't get answered or someone restates the obvious. i had no idea it had something to do with the vgui.

I dont care how good of a mapper you are... mapping this mod with good FPS is impossible... high poly player models and NPC and the world... and props.... = FPS hell.... people cant make CS:S maps run at high FPS never mind a full scale atack of 20 combine soilders and 16 players.... They'd be fucked anyhow on that note.

player limit would probably increase fps. they did talk about it being either 6 or 8 since most sc servers are that anyway.

but yah i know what you mean, they are going to need to do an insane amount of optimizing, might as well replace all player models with a simple stick figure.

I wouldent enjoy waiting a full minute between levels because of the super slow load times since we dont have supercomputers yet.

And yes, OBE is right about fps. There really wouldent be a good way to have good fps unless they redid some enemies with alot less polys.
