GCFScape is a program created by Nem from Nem's Tools. GCFScape allows you to browse through and extract files from Steam Cache Files (.gcf files).

Other Information
- Remember to close Steam before opening a .gcf file with GCFScape, or you will get an error
- You can not insert files into a .gcf file, but you can override them by placing a file in the corresponding directory in your games dire ctory, for example:
- Placing a new 'UrbanTemp.vtf' into 'counter-strike source\cstrike\materials\models\player\urban' will override the original skin and use the one placed in the directory instead. You may have to create the directories if they are not already there.
