description

A prop that can be placed in hierarchy and can play animations. It can also be configured to break when it takes enough damage. prop_dynamic_override is a prototyping entity only. It will allow the use of models designed to be used as prop_physics.

properties

  • Collisions solid(choices)
    6
    • 0 - Not Solid
    • 2 - Use Bounding Box
    • 6 - Use VPhysics
  • Default Animation DefaultAnim(string)
    The name of the idle animation that this prop will revert to whenever it finishes a random or forced animation.
  • Randomly Animate RandomAnimation(choices) - default: If set, this prop will randomly choose and play animations, based upon the times specified in 'Min/Max Random Anim Time'. Inbetween the random animations, it will revert to playing the 'Default Animation'.
    • 0 - No
    • 1 - Yes
  • Min Random Anim Time MinAnimTime(float) - default: 5
    Minimum time between random animations.
  • Max Random Anim Time MaxAnimTime(float) - default: 10
    Maximum time between random animations.
  • Body Group SetBodyGroup(integer)
  • Start Fade Dist fademindist(float) - default: -1
    Distance at which the prop starts to fade (<0 = use fademaxdist).
  • End Fade Dist fademaxdist(float) - default: 0
    Max fade distance at which the prop is visible (0 = don't fade out)
  • Fade Scale fadescale(float) - default: 1
    If you specify a fade in the worldspawn, or if the engine is running under dx7, then the engine will forcibly fade out props even if fademindist/fademaxdist isn't specified. This scale factor gives you some control over the fade. Using 0 here turns off the forcible fades. Numbers smaller than 1 cause the prop to fade out at further distances, and greater than 1 cause it to fade out at closer distances.
  • Health health(integer) - default: 0
    Number of points of damage to take before breaking. 0 means don't break.

inputs

  • SetAnimation(string)
    Force the prop to play an animation. The parameter should be the name of the animation.
  • SetDefaultAnimation(string)
    Set the Default Animation to the one specified in the parameter.
  • SetBodyGroup(integer)
    Set the visible bodygroup, by index.
  • TurnOn(void)
    Make the prop visible.
  • TurnOff(void)
    Make the prop invisible.

  • OnAnimationBegun(void)
    Fired whenever a new animation has begun playing.
  • OnAnimationDone(void)
    Fired whenever an animation is complete.
